Children and young people’s rights

Back in the year 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights had recognized that every human being is born free and equal in dignity and rights, enjoy  freedom,  justice and peace in the world regardless of race, religion, political background, etc. Besides enjoying these rights, they too need to be friendly to each other.

The younger generation at a tender age are vulnerable and financially dependent on adults, there is an awareness that, these young people should be respected and treated equally like the adults. Their rights too needed to be spelled out clearly so that the principles and standards agreed and followed to ensure that they may be respected as individual with equal rights, to be free, safe, and develop their potential fully.

Here’s a video regarding the overview of children and young people’s rights:

BMZ. (2013). Children’s and young people’s rights.
