Current Education System in Malaysia

Back in 2013 when Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak took over the leadership as the Prime Minister with Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin bin Haji Mohd Yassin as the Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Education, the new education policy, the Malaysia  Education Development Blueprint 2013-2025 was formulated.

How have the Malaysian Education System evolved? Let’s take a look at these series of historical events that had took place:

Pre-Independence During the British Colonial Period

Before World War II (1786-1941)

  • Pondok Education System
    – The local Malay Hut school system conduct religious studies for the Malay children.
    – This is the boarding school systems where the Ulama shall conduct the religious teaching
    – The duration was five year without secondary education
    – The Madras-ah Schools are more equiped, the syllabus were more structured and organized.
