When Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi took over the cabinet (2003 – 2009), he had continue Tun Dr. Mahathir’s legacy by proposing the Educational Master Plan 2006-2010 inline with the Ninth Malaysian Plan.
The Educational Development Master Plan was the strategic planning manual for a period of 5-year period under the Ninth Malaysia Plan (RMK9). It was launched by the ex-Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi, in 2007.
The master plan aimed at providing high quality education and equity access to it so that every one may be able to develop their potential to produce visionary and a patriotic generation as an essential step to human capital development (modal insan) that will become a catalyst to creating a successful nation-state (Bangsa negara) that may lead to the realization of the 2020 vision.
